An email newsletter is a marketing tactic that works by offering discounts, coupons, deals, etc to existing customers, or leads. It's sometimes called a mailing list, email list, or email campaign. While running a service business, you're building a customer list constantly with every job. If you can collect email addresses, you've got an easy way to drum up new work during a slow season or when you're looking for more work.

The important thing about email newsletters is that you actually need email addresses, which means you need somewhere to keep them, and a way to send an email to all of your customers with a single click. It's not going to save you time if you have 500 customers and you're emailing each one individually.
